BGC#58-Textured TAG!

Hello Friends!!!  A big Thank you to everyone who played along our last challenge
BGC#57“watercolor”,
and welcome to a brand new challenge at BGC.

BGC#58 Textured TAG!

Lets read the  guidelines:

Challenge Guidelines:
1.   Make a paper tag .
2.   You MUST use any kind of texture paste on it (like gesso, embossing paste, acrylic texture, cracked texture paste etc.)
3.   Deadline 1st -15th September 2014.

This time we have great prizes sponsored by:

Sponsors 2014

I have made two tags for this challenge using gesso and embossing paste on both.
The first one is using soft colors:

This is a set of 6 tags and I have tried to make this layered by inserting one tag into another.

I wanted to keep this one soft and elegant. I started by applying gesso on all the edges. Next I added texture paste using stencil on the edges of the two bigger tags and then just leaving it uncolored. Finally, I embellished it with handmade flowers, diecut,  a little bit of stamping and tying tulle on each tag except the smallest one (with image) which is tied with stamen .

A closeup showing textures:

My next tag is a vintage one:

Here I have created a background first with the help of distress inks and used crackle paint on it. I, then added texture in the same way by pushing the embossing paste through stencils. The two smaller tags are also distressed and stamped. Next I created pockets with torn papers and inserted these smaller tags in them.  I have also applied gesso on the edges of the handmade flowers :)

Hope you enjoy this challenge and play along with us!!

BGC#57 - Water colouring with Jovita

Here i am on the last day of the challenge sharing with you all an inspiration for the watercolouring challenge.

Recently I took the Online Card Class and this is a technique I learnt there... Its Freehand water colouring.

Since I did not have the best set of water colors I have used my Staedtler Water colour pencils and brush to make this card. The main colors are used from this set.

I just roughly drew the boxes with a pencil. Then I colored the boxes with my water color pencils and blended the colors with a brush and water.

After it dried i used my permanent black marker to outline the boxes and draw the bows.

Next i used my Signo White Pen to give the detailing such as the circles on the purple box and the dots on the blue box. A touch of glitter to give the 3D pop.

The sentiment from Hero Arts just fit perfect for this card.
Watercolors gives that imperfect yet natural look to any project . A must try for all crafters.

I myself am wanting to try out so many other combinations of techniques in watercolouring.

Do try it and join in the Challenge here

BGC#57 - Watercolor challenge Karen

BGC#57 - Watercolor challenge Karen

Hello my crafty friends!!  Glad to be back with another challenge!!  My team members have been crankin out some truly BEAUTIFUL watercolor projects!!!  I have also been loving all of your entries!!
My 3 daughters all work with watercolors!!  I start all of my children off with this medium!  It is so enjoyable and easy to use!!  I can't wait to see what each of you comes up with!
Have fun, Karen

Challenge Guidelines :

Make a card , LO or a 3D project (strictly paper crafts )

You must use Watercolors in the project !

Go CAS, fully layered, color an image or create a completely new design of your own with watercolors! Just have fun. ... with watercolors!

Dates :  16th Aug - 31st Aug.

Here is where I started......
I started with a sheet of watercolor paper.  I had intended to make a card but it turned into a mini album.  I had some of the gorgeous new Heidi Swapp cards that have the watercolor look and I wanted to include those.  My watercolors were rather shabby since it appeared that one or more of my children got into them. Oppps......thats a no-no!  I decided to try my gelatos.

They make beautiful vibrant watercolors!  They can be used so many ways but I put down water on my mat then rubbed in a little color to make my watercolors.

I used the watercolor sheet as the cover and painted a soft version of the colors from blue to yellow. I used a digi image that I found and used my copics to color it ( second image I have colored so I'm still learning) It looks a lot like my oldest daughter and her beau.  So this turned into a book for her to put their pics in!! Hence the miss-mosh of style and papers because that's how she likes it!!

Here are some of the inside pages.

I used of the project life cards for hidden journaling and a few in pockets for photo mats.

I used the same watercolors on some of the embellishments.

Thanks for looking! Keep those watercolor creations coming!!

BGC#57 Watercolor card with zubmomi!

Hello friends!  Welcome to another post for the BGC# 57 'Watercolor'.
Our lovely DT Aneta  has given us this amazing theme
and we are loving the awesome entries submitted by you so far  :)

Challenge Guidelines :
Make a card , LO or a 3D project (strictly paper crafts )

You must use Watercolours in the project !

Go CAS, fully layered, color an image or create a completely new design of your own with watercolors! Just have fun. ... with watercolors!

Dates :  16th Aug - 31st Aug.

Here is my card for this challenge:

I have stamped the roses and leaves randomly on the edges of a watercolor paper using distress inks and then sprayed water over the paper to activate it. I then used watercolors to paint the roses and let them blend naturally by adding more layers on top without allowing the first layer to dry.

I did the same with the leaves.

 Another view:

Finally, I added a wash of blue color in some areas for the balance and added the sentiment.

Hope you like my card :)

Please link your projects here.

Take care :)

BGC#57 - Watercolor cards with PJ

Hello my lovely readers !
I am loving all the creations you are giving us so far in our challenges!
aren't you enjoying our new theme ?
Well i totally did ! :) lets check out the guidelines again

So ok :) here is what i made
There are many ways to go about this challenge .
I am demonstrating two , Stamped image coloring and freehand watercolour painting !

In the above card i have stamped the floral image on watercolor paper .
Then i went ahead and colored it using watercolors and added a wash of blue all around the image. once it was dry i stamped my sentiment and the arrow stamp in the corners.

For this card i just went free hand ! i did some colored circles and random shapes to make my flowers and created some green spaces in between to make my leaves. once it was dry i went over the whole thing forming leaves and flowers with my waterproof black pen. It then formed this bouquet . Its not perfect but i think i like this one better than the perfectly stamped image card. :)

What are your thoughts ? I would love to hear them :)

You can join the challenge HERE

See u next month ! :) with more
