Update

Hello dear crafters!
Im sure by now you must have been wondering why we haven’t had any new challenges!!
With a lot of things happening around me, unfortunately its getting a bit difficult to co-ordinate the BGC blog! Even though I have a very supportive design team there are a lot of things that go with managing a blog which I am unable to do alone at the moment.

So I have decided that BGC needs a good break!
And its not just a 1-month holiday that we take at the end of every year ….
This time we will be off air for a full year or until I can get back to managing everything once again.

Its been a good 4 year run! With always a good team and lovely players and entries .
I have always cherished all your support and would love to thank everyone specially all our generous sponsors who supported BGC over the 4 year span.

When I decided to start a challenge blog in 2011 it was just a small idea …. With no experience in ever co-ordinating a challenge blog or managing a design team I don’t know how we have come so far !!

Thank you Design team, sponsors, players and readers for all your love and support!
Its not good bye …. We will be back
Bigger and better …. Just need a bit of a break!!

PS: the winners for the past 3 challenges will be announced in the coming weeks. We will be sharing the same on our Facebook page.

Here are some memories from the past!!

See you soon !!!

Drawer Easel Card+Tutorial with zubmomi!

 Hello Friends!!!
zubmomi here, sharing my first tutorial post. Today I want to show you how to make a 5½   X 5 ½  Drawer Easel cardThis is really easy to make and the end product looks really amazing. Hope you guys like it :)

You will need:

-Heavy Cardstock
Two 8 ½  x 7 inch ( A)
One 8 ½ X 8 ¼ inch (B)
One 5 ½ X 11 inch (C)
One 5 ½   X 5 ½ inch (D)
-Scoring Board.
-Scissors
.-Adhesive.

First we are going to make the sleeve of the drawer :)

Take cardstock A and, with the 7 inch short side on the left, score at 1 ½ inch. Repeat along the three sides, leaving the last 8 and half inches side as it is. Repeat the same with the second cardstock A.

Cut the two tabs, fold and burnish the creases. Again repeat the same with second cardstock A as well.

Next glue the tabs with a strong adhesive.

The two boxes are ready :)

Now attach the boxes together by applying glue around the outside of one box and gluing it inside the other.

This completes the sleeve :)

Now to make the drawer:

Take cardstock B and score at  1 and a half inch on all four sides.

Cut the tabs as shown in the picture, burnish the creases and fold up to form the box. Secure with strong adhesive.

Slide your box into the sleeve. The drawer box card is almost ready :)

Now to make our easel card:

Take cardstock C, score the long side at 5 ½ and 8 ¼ inches and make mountain folds on both scored lines.

Attach Cardstock D as shown and you are done:)

Decorate as you like :D

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and will give it a try!
Happy Crafting :) :)

Here is my inspiration this month
I love Gorjuss stamps ! They are amazing ! I have had these for over 3 years now and have hardly used them . But here we go :) I thought for anything goes i could do a step card which again i havent done in a while !

I have used promarkers and watercolor pencils to finish the lovely stamped image.
The peach flower is handmade and the dasies are localy bought.

I wanted to make it look like she is really swinging , so after a lot of fussy cutting i managed to get the look by adding foam dots to the back of the stamp.
Then with the lovely sizzix frame die it was as always nice to give it that regal look.
So thats about it ! after a CAS challenge it was nice to return to my roots :D
shabby , full of flowers and colors ! :)
Hope you liked my card and will join us in the ANYTHING GOES challenge HERE

I prepared for you Christmas cards this time.  I have a lot of them to make, so I've started already. :-)
Usually I make them plain and flat, but this time they have more elements.

I used dies to make poinsettia, leaves and also background with snowflakes.

I make snow using a snow paste and glitter. It's really glittering!

 Isnt that lovely ?
So with all this information lets talk about what i came up with.
I decided to go for a Layout this time.
I will also show you how i made it.

Lets get started !

These are some of the basic things I will be using for this LO
Of course I will be adding more to the list as we proceed.

I am using a 10 x 10 cardstock for the base of the LO, I have this specific size because i plan to fit it under a frame later. (Which i am yet to buy! But oh well ! there is nothing like a bit of pre planning :)

So the first step was to add some yellow mist ! I have used a generous amount.
Dont worry about the puckering in the base. It will ease soon.
I am using Heidi Swapp Color Shine mist Butter- its got some gold shimmer with the lovely color.

I have then added some splatter of Amethyst as well. I did plan on using Lindy's Stamp Gang Turcoise but i finally went with Heidie Swapp Amethyst mist.
Next I added Cheerylynn designs-french-pastry-doily die cut.
I kept it white for the Clean look.
Next I added some white paper twine which i bought locally.
I just created loops and stuck it down on the side over the doily.

I then cut up some Flowers and stuck them as shown above.
Now its time to add the photo.
I just placed my photo on top of the flowers such as to cover the flowers slightly.

My next and final step was to add some stamping !
I used black pigment ink with Prima finnabair-Dream on cling stamp.

And my CAS layout is ready !
The key to nailing a CAS layout would be lots of white spaces , clean lines or shapes with use of less elements !  This was definitly a make it work moment for me because i am not a CAS girl at all !
But looking at this I realise its such a fun jonear to work in too!

So i hope I have inspired you enough to join us in this CAS challenge !
You can link up your projects HERE
